My client who operates in the betting industry is seeking a Head of Technical Platform to join their senior management team based in the North West of England.

The Role

The head of Technical Platform is responsible for aligning the Platform Technology teams with the business’s vision, values and objectives

You will have overall responsibility to ensure that what the Platform Technology delivers is scalable, easy to deploy and cost-effective to manage

You will be accountable for the Platform Technology teams which consists of Architecture, Engineering, and QA and you will ensure there’s effective, efficient and collaborative working between your teams and that they share a common purpose

You  will have line management of the Head of Engineering, Head of QA, Lead Architect and work alongside your peers in the Delivery, Product, Retail Technology and Technology Operations teams to ensure the Platform Technology team’s processes align with the rest of the business

You must be keen on keeping up to date with new technologies, techniques and processes, and identify where these could lead to improvements for the technical teams’ services

The company works in a highly regulated industry where compliance is part of our every day and therefore, we require someone who is process-driven and can define the processes their team will work to

You must ensure the teams can provide efficient support to internal teams and 24/7/365 support to the mission critical production system and be responsible for making sure the Technical teams are aligned with the business’s vision, values and objectives and the ensure teams are able to provide efficient support to internal teams and 24/7 support to the mission critical production system

Your Expertise

You will be experienced in leading and scaling technical teams in a maturing environment and enjoy working in a fast paced environment

You will be willing and able to put in whatever effort is needed to make sure the business is successful. This is not a 9 to 5 job

Great line management skills that provide you the ability to inspire and drive your team of senior direct reports

With such a large team you will need to be organised

It would be desirable if you have worked in gambling, another highly regulated industry or another high volume 24/7/365 business.
